Looking for Yellowhammers in Brankley Pastures, Staffordshire

I went on another trip to one of my favourite fields, which I affectionately call the Linnet fields. I’m sure I don’t have to explain why 🙂

This place is part of Staffordshire Wildlife Trust, and it’s only a few miles from me. I’ve seen all sorts up here the last 2-3 years, including herons, sandpiper, stoat, hare, Willow warblers, fox, loads of linnets, buzzards, kestrel, bullfinch, and more.

I only really stick to one field, even though the reserve itself is quite large to walk around. I have more luck in this single field than i do around the rest of the reserve.

On this day I fancied a walk around to see what I could find, and I’d previously been up a couple of weeks ago and heard yellowhammers chirping away. I’d also seen yellowhammers here last year around this time, So I was pretty hopeful. Did I manage to find any? you’ll have to watch the video to find out.
